Sohu.com is officially(and legitimately) bringing late-night talk show "Conan" to online viewers in China after successfully presenting "Saturday Night Live"and "Ellen DeGeneres" to Chinese audiences. “Conan” debuted June 27 on Sohu and already has generated more than 1.6 million views.

"The Big Bang Theory" with three other licensed American shows — "The Good Wife," "NCIS" and "The Practice" — disappeared from major Chinese video portals. There has been no official explanation for the shows' being pulled down.

The United States and China signed eight partnership pacts to cut greenhouse gases, bringing the world's two biggest carbon emitters closer together on climate policy. The deals, which involve companies and research bodies, were signed in Beijing ahead of a two-day visit to China by top Obama administration officials.

China will speed up the process of moving the yuan toward a market-determined exchange rate, Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang told a U.S. delegation Wednesday, while stressing the need to move ahead with care. Wang’s statement came during the Strategic Economic Dialogue between China and the U.S. in Beijing, which began Tuesday. While the U.S. has been asking China to move its currency toward a market-based exchange rate, China is worried about how Beijing will manage the transition. The yuan has depreciated 2.4 percent against the U.S.

Chinese President Xi Jinping said Wednesday that China and the United States should properly handle frictions and contradictions in their bilateral relations, so as to forge a new model of major-country relationship. He emphasized that the two countries should promote mutual trust. "China will stick to its peaceful development," he said, adding that the two sides should enhance dialogue and cooperation to strengthen trust. Secondly, China and the United States should respect each other and accumulate shared interests to defuse differences, suggested the Chinese leader.

China's Wanda Group, controlled by the country's richest man Wang Jianlin, says it will invest US$900 million in a five-star hotel and apartment complex in Chicago, as it acquires more assets in the US. The project, to be located near the intersection of the Chicago River and Lake Michigan, will be the city's third tallest building with a height of 350 meters.

Foreign buyers of US residential real estate surged 35 percent last year, with Chinese buyers spending $22 billion-up from $12.8 billion, or 19 percent, from the previous year. Chinese buyers, looking for their own piece of the ‘American Dream,’ paid on average $523,148 per property. By comparison, Americans paid an average price of $199,575, according to NAR’s statistics. Chinese buyers are mostly flocking to Southern California, with Los Angeles, San Francisco and Irvine as their top three choices, according to the survey.

Officials from China and US jointly vowed to combat transnational wildlife trafficking during annual talks held by the two sides in Beijing. Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong, Chinese State Councillor Yang Jiechi, and US Secretary of State John Kerry attended the joint campaign "Combating Wildlife Trafficking: Turning Concern Into Action" at Beijing's Diaoyutai State Guesthouse on Wednesday afternoon. Kerry said the US looked forward to cooperation with China at more multilateral meetings.

Georgia is sending a trade mission to China to explore increasing business ties with its second-biggest export country. The 17-member delegation from the state's economic development department will leave Thursday and visit Qingdao, Beijing and Shanghai from July 10 to July 17. This mission is an opportunity to increase investment opportunities by showcasing some of Georgia's great assets, including agriculture, education, trade and tourism.
