Twenty high school students from Wallingford got a unique lesson in global business as part of a Junior Achievement student exchange program that will brought 20 Chinese students to the campus of Yale University in New Haven in summer 2013. As part of the program, the students continued to work together throughout the 2013-2014 school year on a joint student business venture. That was be followed by a trip to China by the Wallingford students.

Kenosha Unified School District Superintendent Michele Hancock traveled to Beijing in October 2013 as part of a cultural exchange program. Hancock visited China with Carthage College teaching instructor Nana LoCicero Oct. 10-18. The two were invited by the HaiDian Education Research Association, a Chinese government organization made up of current and retired principals who work on education and school management research and projects.

Harvard President Drew Faust met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. The two leaders discussed a number of issues of mutual importance for China and Harvard, including efforts to combat the threat of climate change and continuing collaborations among faculty and scholars. President Faust highlighted the important work being undertaken by faculty and students at Harvard and at institutions across the globe to develop substantive technological and policy solutions to this global challenge.

From Philadelphia to San Francisco, Penn has expanded its influence across the U.S. — now the University’s name has crossed the Pacific Ocean and taken on China, with the Penn Wharton China Center officially opening in Beijing. The launch celebration featured various panels, research talks and round table discussions. The grand opening event marks the beginning of a six-month-long opening that will conclude in September 2015 with a Gala and Forum held at the Center.

The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Study Abroad Center offers undergraduate students the opportunity to study for the summer in Hainan, China. On site, the program is coordinated by Hainan University. The UHM Study Abroad Program in Hainan has been hosted by the College of International Cultural Exchange at Hainan University since 1998.
