November 2, 1998
The first meeting of the Forum convened on November 2-4, 1998, in Beijing. The Forum established a new vehicle for cooperation between government and industry experts of the two nations in the oil and natural gas sectors.
July 20, 1999
The second Forum meeting was held July 20-22, 1999, at the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy at Rice University in Houston, Texas. The courtesy extended by the Baker staff as well as the enthusiasm and support of industry and government representatives combined to make the second session a success. More than 130 individuals participated in discussions held during the working two days of the Forum. Representatives from 12 companies combined their talents to deliver presentations on all aspects of the oil and gas industries of both nations.

The Third U.S./China Oil & Gas Industry Forum, took place in Beijing, September 11, 2001. The second day of this meeting was canceled; however, proceedings for the entire two-day agenda are posted on this website.
July 18, 2002
The 4th U.S./China Oil & Gas Industry Forum took place in Houston., Texas on July 18th and July 19th at the University of Houston. Over 130 people participated in the fourth Forum (registration closed when maximum capacity was reached), representing both governments and more than 30 companies and institutions from the U.S. and China.

The Fifth U.S.-China Oil & Gas Industry Forum was held June 13-15, 2004 in Shanghai, People's Republic of China. High-level government officials from the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Commerce and China National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), along with the members from both China and the U.S. oil and gas industry, attended the forum.

The Sixth U.S.-China Oil & Gas Industry Forum was held June 27-29, 2005 in New Orleans, Louisiana. High-level government officials from the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Commerce and China National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), along with the members from both China and the U.S. oil and gas industry, attended the forum. The U.S.-China Oil & Gas Industry Forum is a public-private partnership involving government and industry representatives from the United States and China. The Forum enables China and the U.S.

The Seventh U.S.-China Oil & Gas Industry Forum was held September 11-12, 2006 in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, P.R. China. High-level government officials from the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Commerce and China’s National Development and Reform Commission, along with representatives from both the Chinese and the U.S. oil and natural gas industries, attended the forum.

The Eighth U.S.-China Oil & Gas Industry Forum was held September 9-11, 2007 in San Francisco, California, USA. High-level government officials from the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Commerce and China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), along with representatives from both U.S. and Chinese oil and gas industries attended the forum.

More than 90 people from Texas and China attended the China-Texas Investment and Trade Cooperation Forum on Wednesday at Greater Houston Partnership (GHP). The high-profile Chinese delegation of more than 20, led by Diao Chunhe, chairman of China International Contractors Association (CICA), consisted of executives from Fortune 500 Chinese corporations and provincial-level business officials. Texas and China's Ministry of Commerce also established a joint task force to carry out further economic exchange activities to promote bilateral trade and investment.

A new scholarship program will help female students from rural regions in Sichuan province, a Chinese-American philanthropist announced recently. "Compared with China's coastal areas, the quality of education in interior parts of China is far disadvantaged," Julia Chang Bloch, founder and president of the US-China Education Trust (USCET), told China Daily. "So we hope to change the current phenomenon of rural students in China that have been left behind in their access to higher education compared with their urban counterparts.
