Dancers from U.S., China participating in exchange program
On Friday, August 5th, the first exchange of dancers from Qingdao, China will be jointly sponsored by the Long Beach-Qingdao Association and the Long Beach Ballet Academy. A delegation of young dancers, their teachers and some parents from Qingdao will spend a week studying ballet at the Long Beach Ballet Academy, including home stays with local families. Their studies will culminate in a performance at Lakewood High School Auditorium prior to a farewell dinner.
Outcomes:
The ballet exchange is a demonstration of the growing cultural exchanges among the U.S. and China and the cooperation of organizations to fund such exchanges.
