US State And Local Official Delegation 2016
The US State and Local Official Delegation 2016 was hosted by the China-United States Exchange Foundation in partnership with the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. The U.S. delegation team was headed by Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Pro Tempore Tyler August, in addition to 7 delegates from Florida, Georgia, Texas, Utah, Michigan and Nebraska who had the opportunity to visit Beijing, Kunming and Shanghai. During the visit, the delegates met with various government officials, community leaders, and students. They also visited places such as the Great Wall, Forbidden City in Beijing as well the Stone Forest Geological Park in Kunming.
Outcomes:
The hosting of the U.S. delegation team in China allows local government officials and policy leaders to be in close contact with their peers and serves as a mechanism for dialogue and collaboration.
