U.S.-China Cooperation on 21st Century Coal

On this day President Barack Obama and President Hu Jintao agreed to work together in promoting cleaner uses of coal, including initiatives to bring teams of U.S. and Chinese scientists and engineers together through the new U.S.-China Clean Energy Research Center to study large-scale carbon capture and storage (CCS).
Outcomes: 
The Presidents agreed to six agreements and initiatives, including but not limited to: feasibility studies for applying American technology in China and partnerships between American and Chinese energy companies.
