An Expert Delegation from Center for American Progress Visited Beijing

Center for American Progress (CAP) Founder, John Podesta, led a group of experts to visit Beijing from March 29th until April 2nd. Mr. Podesta engaged in high-level dialogues with Executive Vice Premiere Zhang Gaoli and State Councilor Yang Jiechi, discussing China-U.S. collaboration in climate change and the “new model of major power relations.” Mr. C. H. Tung also participated in the high-level dialogues. The CAP delegation also met with leadership from the Development Research Center of the State Council, Ministry of Science and Technology, National Development and Reform Commission, and Office of the Central Leading Group on Financial and Economic Affairs. On March 30th, Mr. C. H. Tung hosted a welcome dinner for the CAP delegation at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.
Outcomes: 
The expert delegation conducted roundtable discussions with Chinese experts and scholars on important topics such as regional security, climate change, and energy.
