2005 U.S.-China Oil and Gas Industry Forum

The Sixth U.S.-China Oil & Gas Industry Forum was held June 27-29, 2005 in New Orleans, Louisiana. High-level government officials from the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Commerce and China National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), along with the members from both China and the U.S. oil and gas industry, attended the forum. The U.S.-China Oil & Gas Industry Forum is a public-private partnership involving government and industry representatives from the United States and China. The Forum enables China and the U.S. to meet common oil and gas industry goals, including assisting China in its efforts to secure reliable and economical sources of oil and natural gas while facilitating investment by U.S. industry.
Outcomes: 
The Forum continued to use a panel-discussion format, facilitating open dialogue. Presentation and discussions were focused around three themes- Technology, Market Development, and Government Role. Please see the Sixth Forum agenda for more details.
