Kerry plays guitar at the Great Hall of the People

Secretary of State John Kerry on Thursday showcased his guitar-playing, holding a lunchtime jam session during talks with officials in Beijing. Kerry did so at the urging of Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong, following a lunch at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, China, that concluded 5th Annual U.S.-China People-to-People Exchange on July 10, 2014.
Outcomes:
Kerry said, “If we build greater trust, if we reach for greater prosperity, if we lead together on the world stage, this consultation will be not the only one of its kind or the only partnership that our people share; it will simply be the first, and it will set an example for the possibilities of the future.” Kerry delighted a small group of diplomats, who called for the 70-year-old to play some more. The Secretary of State obliged.
