U.S.-China Science and Technology Agreement Signed

U.S. President Carter and PRC Premier Deng Xiaoping signed the Agreement in Science and Technology (S&T Agreement) enabling scientific and technological exchange between the US and the PRC in the wake of reestablished diplomatic relations.
Outcomes: 
Established the US-PRC Joint Commission on Scientific and Technological Cooperation. Under the Agreement the Commission's aim is to foster scientific and technological exchange of knowledge, personnel, equipment, and research with the goal of promoting closer ties between the U.S. and China and to aid both countries via the exchange of such knowledge and expertise.
