University of North Carolina System Higher Education Leadership Trip to China

The BOG 14 member delegation visited China from March 16 to 23, 2012. The group was led by UNC president Tom Ross and chairman of the board Hannah Gage.This delegation was chosen to travel to China on a mission that would improve understanding and collaboration between the two countries and foster a better understanding of China, especially of China’s higher education. The trip lasted for 10 days, covering 4 cities—Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing and Suzhou—providing three different modes of transportation: plane, high-speed train and bus. The delegation visited 6 top-ranking universities and one international school.
