University of Illinois Students to Travel to Hangzhou

20 students from the University of Illinois system will be selected in the spring for a summer trip to China. The trip is sponsored by the Wanxiang Fellows Program and will focus on the development of green technologies in China. Wanxiang began creating programs under the 100,000 Strong Initiative, announced by former President Barack Obama and former President Hu Jintao in 2009. The initiative aims to send 100,000 American students to study in China in an effort to build relationships between the citizens of the two superpowers.
