University Of Chicago Harris School Of Public Policy Students Visit Shanghai

On March 26th – 29th, a Chicago Harris China Study Group visited Shanghai, which was organized by the China-United States Exchange Foundation and Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC).
Outcomes: 
Students learned about how foreign business operated in the country, China’s policy towards religion, urban planning, and the history of Jewish refugees. One student said, “China’s economic development is so fast, but Chinese people are still full of hospitality and friendliness.” She hoped to come back and work on improving Sino-Japanese relations.
