Mayor Roy Buol to visit Handan
Mayor Roy Buol of Dubuque, Iowa will join a delegation of local business and education leaders traveling to Dubuque's sister city in China next month. The group will visit Handan, which is located in the Hebei province in northeast China, from May 22 to May 31. Among those joining Buol will be Rick Dickinson, president of the Greater Dubuque Development Corp., Liang Chee Wee, president of Northeast Iowa Community College, and Dick Landis, chairman of Dubuque's Sister City Relationships Advisory Commission.
Outcomes:
Wee described the excursion as exploratory, but also a "working trip." He said that he hopes to create relationships that help NICC prepare students for the global business economy.
