China-US Folklore and Intangible Cultural Heritage Project

The Asia Program of the Henry Luce Foundation has awarded the American Folklore Society a three-year grant to continue its work to build relationships between folklorists and folklore studies institutions in China and the US.
Outcomes: 
In the first phase of the project, AFS produced a series of four bilingual conferences (in Guangzhou, Nashville, Wuhan, and Washington, DC) comparing folklore and ICH policy, case studies, field methods, and archiving practices in both countries.
