China, US discuss cooperation in law enforcement

State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Meng Jianzhu met with Lute, executive deputy secretary of the US Department of Homeland Security, who came to visit China at the invitation of the Ministry of Public Security.
Outcomes: 
The two sides had fruitful exchange on further completely stepping up law enforcement between China and the United States. The two sides unanimously held that it is very important to step up cooperation and exchange on pursuing evasion, global supply chain security, clamping down on Internet crime, smuggling, entry and exit immigration administration, protection of intellectual property right [IPR], drug control, and fighting terrorism. The two sides agreed to establish a mechanism of annual ministerial-level meeting between China's Ministry of Public Security and US Department of Homeland Security, and to maintain close communications at work level on specific cooperation matters to jointly advance law enforcement cooperation on all fronts, at various levels, and in broad field.
