To better understand the future trajectory of China’s economy, each year since 2010 the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations and the China Center for Economic Research (CCER) have jointly organized an annual half-day forum at the New York Stock Exchange.

Beginning in 1981, the National Committee has administered a program on behalf of the United States Department of Education to bring delegations of education officials and administrators from across China to the United States. Twice each year, participants have the opportunity to observe the challenges facing the American education system and how institutions across the country are dealing with them.

The delegation had a tour around the campus and learned about the university's various programs. The group also visited the Georgia Tech campus on Friday.

President Jimmy Carter delivered the keynote address at the 2014 Barnett-Oksenberg Lecture on Sino-American Relations to an audience in Shanghai. Former Shanghai Mayor Xu Kuangdi was the commentator and Zhou Mingwei, Director, China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration and Honorary President, Shanghai Association of American Studies, served as moderator.

To better understand the future trajectory of China’s energy needs, the National Committee hosted a public event, China Energy 2020, on September 11, 2014. The forum explored how China - the world's biggest energy producer and consumer, and largest generator of greenhouse gas emissions - can reach its economic, environmental and energy goals.
