Tsinghua Night 2014

To celebrate the Chinese New Year, a delegation from Tsinghua University presented a feast of artistic performance in the evening of January 27th, 2014. The Chinese New Year (Spring Festival) is on January 31, 2014. On this festival occasion of special importance, Tsinghua University (THU) organized a delegation mainly formed by the Tsinghua University Student Art Group (THUSAG) to visit the west coast of the United States. The delegation served as a messenger of culture, friendship, and youth, presenting a feast of artistic performance to the American public and delivering greetings for a happy and prosperous Chinese New Year to THU alumni, the local Chinese communities, and all American friends alike. On January 27th, Tsinghua Night 2014 was held in Bovard Auditorium, USC. The performance included diverse elements: music with profound Chinese national culture characteristics such as Spring Festival Overture and the Pastoral Song; Spring Festival songs that call for superior skills such as the Spring Ballet; the classic and world-famous string quartets Butterfly Love; and original pieces imbued with strong Tsinghua characteristics like Lotus after The Rain.
Outcomes: 
The audience gained some understanding of traditional Chinese culture through the artistic performances of song and dance.
