Rural Health in China: A Report for the CSCPRC

This American delegation traveled to China to better understand the less documented areas of Chinese medicine in rural communities. This includes the management systems, organization, technical expertise and laws pertaining to health.
Outcomes:
During their visit, the delegation realized the implications of a centrally planned system, where resources are allocated based on priority and not the market. This proved somewhat frustrating to the scientists as machines they took for granted in the states were in short supply in China. Also the low numbers of mental illness were somewhat troubling to the delegation. The doctors however were very grateful for the frank conversations they were able to have with rural doctors.
