Palos Verdes High band makes music in China

The Palos Verdes High School wind ensemble performed at Beijing's Forbidden City Concert Hall and Shanghai's Oriental Art Center in China as an American salute to the 2008 Olympics. PV High director of instrumental music Shellie Parkinson, the band and family members took the trip from June 21 to July 1 and visited various parts of the country, including Tian'an men Square and the Great Wall.
Outcomes: 
The basis of the trip was to bring the cultures together through music under the motto: "Perform in harmony—with Olympic spirit."
