China, U.S. Discuss International Norms of State Behavior in Cyberspace

The U.S. and China held an expert meeting to discuss international norms of state behavior in cyberspace and other security issues as part of the first meeting of the Senior Experts Group on International Norms and Related Issues. The two sides had positive and constructive discussions on related issues and agreed to have a second meeting within six months.

The expert meeting demonstrates the importance for the U.S. and China to have direct dialogues on importance topics such as cyber-security and other related security issues. It allows both countries to engage in honest discussions, and attempt to build trust while decreasing mutual suspicions.
