2002 U.S.-China Oil and Gas Industry Forum

The 4th U.S./China Oil & Gas Industry Forum took place in Houston., Texas on July 18th and July 19th at the University of Houston. Over 130 people participated in the fourth Forum (registration closed when maximum capacity was reached), representing both governments and more than 30 companies and institutions from the U.S. and China.
Outcomes: 
The Fourth Forum included three panel discussion sessions. One panel focused on natural gas in China, a second panel examined natural gas marketization, and a third panel emphasized reporting in on a study tour made by the Chinese delegation on their way to the Forum meeting. Building on the small group experts’ sessions of 1999, the study tour included a set of presentations from Alaska state officials on developing a gas market as well as detailed presentations on LNG and pipeline/port operations.
